The 385,000-gallon Great Ocean Tank houses the tallest aquarium window in North America. Along with sharks, moray eels, and sea turtles, exhibits include more than 7,000 creatures. The 2,500-square-foot Saltmarsh Aviary offers views of Charleston Harbor and allowing you to catch sight of herons, diamondback terrapins, puffer fish, and stingrays. The latest exhibit is Madagascar Journey, filled with exotic animals including ring-tailed lemurs—a favorite among visitors, who can step inside an observation bubble within the primates' habitat. The 4-D theater shows popular family films complete with special effects such as wind gusts and splashes of water.
